President and Founder- Gabriel Lefkowitz

Originally from the Boston area, New Bards Music Founder and President Gabriel Lefkowitz comes from a musical family. His grandfather is noted musicologist Murray Lefkowitz, professor emeritus at Boston University and his father, Ronan Lefkowitz, is a violinist in the Boston Symphony. Like his grandfather and father, Gabriel is a violinist and has been performing for over 15 years.

Before coming to New York City, Gabriel was concertmaster of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra for 5 years on three separate international tours to France, Central Europe, and Eastern Europe. In July of 2004, Gabriel was asked to replace Yo-Yo Ma in a solo performance at the Democratic National Convention at the Fleet Center in Boston. His original rendition of "Amazing Grace" which he composed and arranged in the three days' time he was given, was seen by millions around the world and led to an appearance on the CNN Morning Show, an interview by anchor Bill Hemmer, and a special performance for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

Gabriel graduated with top honors from Columbia College where he studied Music and Economics. He completed his Bachelors degree at Columbia in three years and is currently a Masters student at The Juilliard School. In the past few years, Gabriel has performed extensively at weddings, corporate functions, receptions, and other events, and has become a respected performance contractor for several event planners in the New York City area.

In addition to an active performing career and running the company, Gabriel composes music for plays, television, films, and video games, and enjoys exploring new restaurants in New York City.
